How many couples must be saying this to their wedding guests right now? Are you one of them?
It was almost a year ago that my husband and I got married. After (finally) getting our wedding albums printed this month - gotta make the most of social distancing and isolation, ey - so many people have said to me 'if this was the 1st June this year, your wedding wouldn't have happened.'
It got me thinking...
The build up was about 15 months for us, and it was filled with excitement, anticipation and just a little sprinkling of anxiety. And almost one year on, I can't help but feel for all the people who are having to change their plans.
I know so many couples who are having to postpone or cancel their weddings at the moment. Of course it's the right thing to do, and the decision is easier when you know you don't have any other choice given the latest government advice, but the thought of having so much go into the planning and prep, to be so close to the wedding date and then have to reschedule.... Ugh.
For some, a little extra time will be welcome. But for others, I can imagine they are feeling a little deflated.
In an effort to help ease that feeling (even just a little bit), I've pulled together some freebies for couples who are having to cancel or postpone. I have three different 'un save the date' e-vites that couples can email out to their guests. The names and information is fully customisable. I've tried to reflect different styles in each, so hopefully one will speak to you. Once all the details are confirmed, I will send send over an email ready PDF and JPEG for you to send out. Just get in touch if you, or anyone you know, needs one!
And since putting this out on Instagram and Facebook, I've been overwhelmed by the lovely couples who have been in touch. Couples from all over the world... Italy, USA, Scotland and England to name a few. They've all been amazing. They've not let Covid-19 dampen their spirits and they're all still so excited to get married... just later!
Wishing you all the best for your (new) wedding date! It will 100% be worth it when you get there. It really is the best day of your life.
